“I recently completed a ten-day Carry the Fire group with Jesse. I have been a committed Christian since I was six years old. I have attended many Christian camps and seminars. I have also participated in numerous small groups and Bible studies. However, very few have been as impactful as Carry the Fire. “This 10-day rhythm of intentionally meeting dark and early at 5am was the exact spark my soul desperately needed to reignite a desire for communion and prayer with our Father in heaven, in addition to a hunger for His presence and His word. The digital communal gathering, via Zoom, was a breath of fresh air. Each morning was an encouragement as we gathered in the Lord’s name and invited His presence. He truly met us there as His word promises He does. Jesse’s daily, pre-meditated questions provided structure to guide the discussion, but even sweeter than that was how organic, fluid, and flexible it was to converse and share about what the Holy Spirit was stirring and revealing in us the day prior or even that morning itself. The confessional community breakouts were just as rich, as it created a deeper bond of vulnerability and transparency with a new brother in Christ. Overall, this structured rhythm was a beautiful example of what discipleship should be in every believer’s journey of faith.”

I was invited to lead a discipleship group through the Carry the Fire program and it has been one of the most impactful programs I’ve been involved in. I had spent 40 years being a believer without ever being confident in how to disciple someone into Christ. Through Carry the Fire, not only was I empowered to lead in my own unique discipleship style, but I was discipled myself. This is now a way of life for me and I feel confident for the first time in my life that I am living out the great commission.
